New Delhi, Feb 16 (NationPress) French player Kyrian Jacquet continued his remarkable run in India by securing the Delhi Open 2025 singles title, just days after winning the Chennai Open 2025. Jacquet, who entered the tournament unseeded, triumphed over second seed Billy Harris with a score of 6-4, 6-2 at the DLTA Complex Centre Court on Sunday, claiming the championship.

Hosted by the All India Tennis Association and the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association, the Delhi Open 2025 was an ATP Challenger 75 event played on hard courts, with a total prize money of USD 1,00,000. By winning the singles event, Jacquet earned 75 vital ATP points.

Riding high on his semifinal victory against top seed Vit Kopriva, Jacquet, ranked World No. 204 at the time, started strong in the final, breaking World No. 116 Harris right away to lead 3-0. Harris managed to break back and equalize at 3-3, but Jacquet broke him again in the eighth game and secured the first set 6-4 on his opponent’s serve.

Seeking his third ATP Challenger title, Jacquet began the second set with solid service games, nearly breaking Harris in the fourth game. However, the second seed maintained his composure after giving up a 40-0 lead, leveling the set at 2-2.

Despite Harris’ efforts, Jacquet took charge in game six, coming back from 40-15 down to win with an impressive forehand. The 23-year-old dominated the next game to establish a 5-2 lead. Jacquet then won an incredible rally in the eighth game, setting up two match points, and converted the second to clinch the set 6-2, and the match.

Jacquet’s victory with a score of 6-4, 6-2 against Harris marked him as the third consecutive Frenchman to win the Delhi Open singles title, following Stephane Robert (2016) and Geoffrey Blancaneaux (2024).
