Manchester, May 28 (NationPress) Manchester City has officially announced that three of Pep Guardiola’s assistant coaches — Juanma Lillo, Inigo Dominguez, and Carlos Vicens — will depart from the club this summer following the expiration of their contracts.

Juanma Lillo has chosen to return to Spain. He had two terms at City, initially joining in 2020 and leaving in 2022 to manage Al-Sadd in Qatar.

"Assistant coaches Juanma Lillo and Inigo Dominguez will leave Manchester City upon the expiry of their contracts," the club stated in a Wednesday announcement.

Juanma Lillo rejoined City in 2023 and collaborated closely with Guardiola this season. Lillo has been a vital component of Guardiola’s coaching staff, contributing to the club’s trophy haul during his tenure.

Inigo Dominguez, who joined the coaching team in 2023 alongside Lillo, will also be departing. He supported both Guardiola and the players through training and match days over the last two years.

Carlos Vicens is also set to leave Manchester City to assume the role of head coach at S.C. Braga in Portugal. Vicens joined City in 2017, working with youth teams before advancing to Guardiola’s senior coaching staff. He played a key role in the U18 side's victory in the FA Youth Cup in 2020 and has been part of the first-team staff for the past four years.

“Everyone at Manchester City wishes Juanma, Inigo, and Carlos the very best and expresses gratitude for their contributions during a tremendously successful period for the club," the statement further noted.

The club also indicated that announcements regarding replacements for the trio will be made soon.

City concluded the 2024–25 season without securing any major trophies, finishing third in the Premier League behind Liverpool and Arsenal, but they did manage to clinch a spot in next season’s Champions League.
