Manipur triumphed with a score of 2-0 against Uttar Pradesh, while Punjab edged past Sikkim with a 3-2 finish.
The match saw Manipur secure their initial victory in Group C, scoring one goal in each half to ensure their win over Uttar Pradesh. Md Abash initiated the scoring spree for Manipur in the 21st minute, demonstrating impressive awareness by positioning himself within the six-yard box to convert a low cross from the left. Later, Leishungbam Bankimchandra Singh provided a crucial second goal in the final 30 minutes, skillfully maneuvering past his defender on the right and sending in a low cross that found its way into the net amidst a crowded box.
Despite this victory, Manipur remains in fourth place in the group with a total of three points from two matches. Conversely, Uttar Pradesh retains the top spot in the group despite the loss, accumulating six points from three matches and leading Punjab based on a superior head-to-head record.
