Chelmsford (UK), May 1 (NationPress) Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has returned to Essex for the 2025 season of the Vitality Blast after having previously played for the club from 2017 to 2019.
With an impressive tally of 71 wickets from 62 international T20 matches at an average of 21.94, the left-arm seamer is set to bolster the Eagles’ bowling lineup for the 2025 T20 Blast.
Director of Cricket Chris Silverwood, who collaborated with Amir in 2017, noted that during his tenure with Essex, Amir secured 24 wickets in 21 matches. Although he did not participate in the knockout rounds, Amir contributed to the club's landmark double triumph in 2019, achieving nine wickets from just five appearances.
In April, Amir showcased his skills with the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League, where he claimed seven wickets across six matches.
