The Mumbai Indians are determined to reclaim the title they secured during the inaugural year in 2023, while the Delhi Capitals are aiming for a stroke of luck after finishing as runners-up in the finals for the past two seasons.

During Friday's training session, which marks the ninth day of their preparation for WPL 2025, the spotlight was on England all-rounder Natalie Sciver-Brunt, who has been a key player in the first two editions, and Parunika Sisodia, a recent addition and U19 World Cup champion.

The Mumbai Indians arrived in Vadodara on Wednesday following their initial training days in Navi Mumbai.

Sciver-Brunt, who significantly contributed with both bat and ball in the previous campaigns, commenced her preparations with the Mumbai Indians ahead of WPL's third edition.

This senior player joined the squad after achieving a world record in Women’s cricket during the day-night Ashes Test, becoming the first woman to score 50-plus runs in six consecutive Tests.

Natalie ranks among the top five wicket-takers across both seasons and is the only pacer on that list, with her best performance being 3 for 21 against the Gujarat Giants in 2023.

Meanwhile, young U19 World Cup winner Parunika Sisodia acclimatized herself to the MI camp, maximizing her learning from training sessions alongside coaches and senior teammates.

The 19-year-old left-arm spinner joined the team as a substitute for the injured all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar. She played a crucial role in leading India to the U19 World Cup final, earning the Player of the Match award for her impressive 3-21 spell in the semifinal against England, and contributed two wickets in India's victorious final against South Africa.
