Newcastle, Jan 3 (NationPress) Newcastle United, riding high on a five-match winning streak, are maneuvering through a challenging set of fixtures. Following their 0-2 win against Manchester United, they will take on Tottenham Hotspur this Saturday, ahead of their semi-final match against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.

Head coach Eddie Howe is confident that his team will assert themselves against their rivals, describing this matchup as a historically exciting clash against Spurs.

"It's a challenging game; it’s always a tough contest - they are a highly creative team with a style that is difficult to counter. Facing Manchester United, Tottenham, and Arsenal signifies a demanding period for us, but we are thrilled with the way we have begun this stretch," he stated.

"This encounter promises to be thrilling - historically, we have had some fantastic matches against them. Our goal is to neutralize their strengths and impose our style of play while striving to continue our momentum," he added.

The Magpies are heading to North London with hopes of extending their remarkable run, which has propelled them to fifth place in the Premier League standings, just three points shy of a top-four spot. Both Alexander Isak and Howe have received nominations for Player of the Month and Manager of the Month awards respectively, each aiming to carry their impressive form into the new year.

After praising his team's performance, Howe remarked that there is always potential for improvement. "We have delivered some exceptional performances - everything seems to be falling into place. We have shown our attacking prowess, but the most gratifying aspect of our recent success is how effectively we have defended our goal. Our defense has been outstanding, providing us with significant control in that area," he explained.

"There’s always room for growth, and I genuinely believe that. We are playing much better, with confidence and freedom, expressing ourselves appropriately. These upcoming matches will test us, but we need to rise to those challenges and respond appropriately," he concluded.
