Alexander Isak to Sit Out FA Cup Match Against Bromley

Newcastle, Jan 10 (NationPress) Newcastle United's forward Alexander Isak is currently experiencing a stellar form, having scored 14 goals in his last 15 competitive matches for the Magpies. The Swedish striker was taken off during the 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the semifinal of the Carabao Cup.
Head coach Eddie Howe has announced that Isak will be rested for the upcoming FA Cup match against League Two team Bromley.
"He's currently seeing his physio and we've provided him with a couple of days of rest. We believe he's in a good condition and will report back tomorrow. Although we might have included him in some capacity against Bromley, given the circumstances, it's likely he'll sit this one out to recover and prepare for our future matches," Howe stated during a press conference.
Isak earned the December Player of the Month award for the first time in his career, following an impressive month with Newcastle United, where he scored eight goals and provided two assists in six Premier League matches.
He was the top scorer in the Premier League for December, scoring in every one of his six appearances as Newcastle secured four wins, one draw, and only a single loss, positioning themselves for a top-four finish.
Isak's remarkable performances included a hat-trick against Ipswich Town, along with goals against Liverpool, Brentford, Leicester City, Aston Villa, and Manchester United. He is the first Newcastle player to receive this accolade since Miguel Almiron in October 2022.
The Magpies have a rich history in the FA Cup, having won it six times, with their most recent major trophy being the 1955 FA Cup, where they triumphed over Manchester City. Howe expressed that the ‘Magic of the Cup is still alive.’
"It remains the FA Cup. I believe it hasn't changed at all. The FA Cup was the tournament that captivated me as a child and drew me into football.
"The excitement and drama of knockout competitions were pivotal in my early fascination with the sport. There continues to be a magic surrounding it, and we enter this match knowing that Bromley will have all the hope and enchantment that comes with the cup," he added.
