Newcastle Manager Eddie Howe Assures Alexander Isak's Hip Injury Is Not Serious

Newcastle, Dec 3 (NationPress) As he gears up his team for a Premier League matchup against the top-ranked Liverpool on Wednesday, Newcastle United's head coach Eddie Howe has stated he does not believe the injury Alexander Isak suffered during the game against Crystal Palace is a ‘long-term concern’.
The Swedish striker was substituted early in the 1-1 stalemate at Selhurst Park on Saturday. However, with the Reds visiting in midweek, coach Howe remains optimistic that Isak will be ready to contribute.
“Alex took a knock to his hip. We haven't seen him in training yet, but we don't think it's a long-term injury. Dan Burn performed well during the game. Following his suspension, we took that chance to manage his ankle and ensure he got fit. He was exceptional against Crystal Palace and came through the match without issues,” Howe remarked during a press conference.
Liverpool has enjoyed an impressive season under Arne Slot, achieving 18 victories, one draw, and just one loss, putting them at the top of both the Premier League and Champions League standings. Their lead in the league was boosted to nine points with a win against Manchester City, highlighted by Gakpo’s early goal and a late penalty from Mohamed Salah.
The Reds aim to culminate a challenging series of fixtures, which included wins over Real Madrid and Manchester City, with a victory at St James Park against Newcastle United on Thursday (IST).
“Liverpool are exceptionally strong, and they’ve had a remarkable week against Real Madrid and Manchester City. Their players are performing at a high level – we must deliver a solid defensive display and create opportunities going forward,” added Howe.
Newcastle, having endured a disappointing draw against Crystal Palace on Saturday, is determined to rebound strongly as they currently sit in 11th position in the league standings.
