Newcastle, Dec 23 (NationPress) Premier League teams are preparing for the festive season, which is among the most demanding periods in the football calendar. The Newcastle United squad, in impressive form, aims to keep their winning streak alive as they confront a challenging series of matches against Aston Villa, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur.
Head coach Eddie Howe has expressed complete faith in his players as they head into the Boxing Day match against Villa, having netted eight goals in their last two outings.
“We have every reason to be excited about these matches [against Aston Villa, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur]. I am very pleased with our recent performances, and we must carry that momentum into the upcoming week. We have some fantastic matches lined up for everyone to enjoy,” Howe stated at a press conference.
“Playing at home during the festive season makes these games a joy to partake in. So, we are eagerly anticipating the match. When you perform well, you look forward to the next challenge,” Howe added.
The Magpies are set to host Villa at St. James' Park on Thursday, aiming to extend their strong form, which has seen them achieve three consecutive victories across all competitions, scoring 11 goals while conceding just one.
Saturday’s commanding 4-0 victory over Ipswich Town, highlighted by a hat-trick from Alexander Isak, marked their latest impressive performance, boosting their confidence ahead of the clash with Villa, who triumphed over Manchester City last weekend.
“We faced Aston Villa twice last season. This will be a significant test for us. They possess a strong squad with talented players. Their style of play is challenging to counter, as they are well-coached and disciplined,” he concluded.
