Amman (Jordan), March 27 (NationPress) Indian wrestlers maintained their impressive performance on the second day of the Senior Asian Wrestling Championship 2025, with Nitesh earning the second bronze medal for the nation in Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday. Nitesh displayed exceptional skill and resolve in the Greco-Roman category, adding another bronze to the one secured by Sunil Kumar in the men's 87kg.
In the bronze medal match, Nitesh decisively defeated Amanberdi Agamammedov from Turkmenistan with a commanding score of 9-0, clinching the victory through Victory by Suppression (VSU) on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old Nitesh kicked off his campaign with a powerful 9-0 win against Kazakhstan’s Ilyas Guchigov. However, he faced a significant challenge in the semifinals, where he was bested by Iranian wrestler Mohammadhadi Abdollah Saravi.
