Nitish Reddy Reflects on Two Months of Growth and Learning

New Delhi, Jan 13 (NationPress) India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who recently made his Test debut during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia, expressed that the last two months have been an incredible opportunity for personal and professional growth.
Reddy debuted in red-ball cricket against Australia in Perth and successfully secured his position in the playing eleven throughout the five-match series. The 21-year-old showcased his skills and justified the trust placed in him by the team management, accumulating 298 runs at an average of 37.25, making him India's second-highest run-scorer in the series.
The highlight of his tour was his remarkable knock of 114 – his first Test century – achieved at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground, especially heartwarming as it occurred in the presence of his family: father Mutyalu Reddy, mother Manasa, sister Tejaswi, and uncle Surendra.
“From setting alarms to catch the Test matches in Australia to experiencing the Australian landscape, the last two months have been an enriching journey for me, both as a player and as an individual. Although we did not conclude the series as we wished, we will return stronger and more resilient,” Reddy posted on X, previously known as Twitter.
In terms of bowling, Reddy took five wickets across 44 overs, with his best performance being 2-32. His impressive performances and composed demeanor during his inaugural Test tour in Australia earned him wide acclaim from both former Indian and Australian players, who consider him a potential mainstay in the national setup across all formats.
Previously, Reddy made his T20I debut in the series against Bangladesh last year, where he excelled with a fantastic 74 runs in New Delhi. He is now set to feature in India's upcoming five-match T20I series against England, commencing on January 22 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
