Jamshedpur, March 22 (NationPress) The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), in collaboration with the Jharkhand State Rifle Association, has successfully concluded its week-long National Coaches Course today, emphasizing its commitment to improving grassroots coaching and establishing a scientifically driven framework for shooting sports in India.

The course saw the participation of 33 coaches hailing from five different states, notably including 19 from Jharkhand.

This program was structured as an extensive and rigorous training experience, merging technical proficiency with sports science, innovative coaching techniques, and hands-on skills, ensuring a thorough educational journey for every attendee.

Key technical sessions were led by Olympian and Indian Team Coach Sanjeev Rajput, alongside Vidya Jadav. They delved into critical subjects such as weapon management, shooting techniques, correcting mistakes, and preparing for competitions, imparting priceless insights based on elite experience and global standards.

A standout feature of the program was its incorporation of Sports Science, with expert-led workshops providing coaches with actionable tools to enhance athlete performance.

Nanaki Chadha's Sports Psychology workshop highlighted the mental facets of performance and athlete well-being. Coaches were educated on performance profiling, goal setting, anxiety management, confidence enhancement, and effective communication with athletes, all aimed at creating psychologically secure training environments.

Charvi Bajaj's Nutrition module provided strategies on fueling, hydration, and recovery, enabling coaches to grasp the direct correlation between nutrition and consistent performance.

In the Strength & Conditioning session, Vijendra Pal Singh concentrated on stability, posture, muscular endurance, and fatigue management. He also shared specific warm-up and cool-down routines tailored for shooting athletes.

P N Vineel Kumar's Human Anatomy sessions delivered a thorough understanding of the human body concerning shooting performance. The training encompassed biomechanics, muscle activation, posture, and joint stability, allowing coaches to identify technical faults stemming from physical limitations and to enhance athlete performance through improved body awareness.

Salil Srivastava's Communication Skills session focused on cultivating robust coach-athlete relationships through clear, organized, and empathetic communication. It addressed active listening, delivering constructive feedback, conflict resolution, and motivational tactics, all designed to nurture a positive, high-performance training environment. The session also illustrated how effective communication strengthens athlete confidence, accelerates learning, and guarantees consistent performance.

The course concluded with a formal examination to assess participants’ comprehension. In the subsequent phase, coaches have been tasked with a practical field project involving athlete engagement, with a presentation expected within the next two months.

The next segment of the course will again occur in Jamshedpur, where attendees will present their projects and continue their development along the NRAI education pathway. Upon successful completion of both phases, participants will earn an official NRAI certification.

JSRA president Shri Diwakar Singh mentioned that these training sessions will be regularly conducted in Jharkhand to consistently elevate the quality of coaching in the region.

This initiative reflects NRAI’s ongoing mission to nurture well-rounded, scientifically knowledgeable coaches who can enhance performance at all levels and promote the overall advancement of shooting sports in India.
