Patna, Sep 3 (NationPress) Amrit Lal from Chandigarh posted a score of two-under 70, while Lakshya Nagar of Noida achieved an even-par 72, resulting in both players finishing day two as joint leaders with a cumulative score of four-under 140 at the PGTI NEXGEN 2025 held at the Patna Golf Club. Sanjeev Kumar from Lucknow (70) and Kurush Heerjee from Jamshedpur (71) secured a tie for third place, each with a total score of two-under 142, trailing the leaders by two strokes.
The top-performing golfer from Patna, Md Nawab, stood tied for eighth with a score of two-over 146, while another local professional, Varun Sahay (70), made the cut and is currently tied 29th at eight-over 152.
The cut was set at nine-over 153, allowing the top 37 professionals to advance to the third and final round.
Amrit Lal showcased exceptional driving and chipping skills, achieving four birdies against two bogeys. Starting the day in third place, he ascended two spots to share the lead.
Amrit, still searching for his first title, remarked, “I focused on one shot at a time today and avoided letting the mid-round bogeys disrupt my performance. I aim to maintain this mindset in the final round.”

Like his co-leader, Amrit, Lakshya is eager to clinch his maiden title, stating, “I’m entering this event with strong confidence, having recently secured a tied 23rd finish at the Kolar Open, my best result this season on the main tour. I’ve been aggressive off the tees here in Patna, which I plan to replicate in the final round.”
