With a total score of eight-under 100, the 19-year-old holds a significant three-shot advantage.
Lakshya Nagar from Noida also delivered an impressive bogey-free 67, elevating him 13 spots into a tie for second with a cumulative score of five-under 103. The previous leader, Tushar Pannu from Karnal, settled for a 72, landing him alongside Nagar in the second position. Meanwhile, the Gurugram pair of Digraj Singh Gill (67) and Manish Thakran (68), along with Rohit Narwal from Karnal (71), are tied for fourth with scores of four-under 104.
The Imperial Golf Estate features a par-72 nine-hole course, with each hole played twice per round. The cut was set at two-over 110, allowing 40 professionals to advance to the final round.
Starting the day tied for third and two shots behind the leader, Vasu Sehgal (33-67) began his round strong with two birdies in the first three holes. He then surged ahead, securing three consecutive birdies from holes ten to twelve, finishing the day with a remarkable five-under.
Sehgal, who transitioned to professional golf in 2023 after a successful junior career, demonstrated exceptional ball-striking and wedge skills, converting several easy birdie opportunities and executing impressive up-and-downs.
Expressing his thoughts, Vasu stated, “I struck my approaches effectively today, often landing close to the pin. Yet, my putting wasn't at its peak today, leading to some missed chances. After making swing and club adjustments this year, I feel my game is coming together.”
“Competing in a professional event at the Imperial Great Estate for the first time has been a thrilling experience. Fellow professionals are enjoying the course's layout and conditions. For the final round, my focus will be on hitting as many fairways and greens as I can.”
