Pune, Oct 27 (NationPress) The Poona Club Ltd. and the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) have officially unveiled the highly anticipated second edition of The Poona Club Open golf tournament, set to take place at the stunning Poona Club Golf Course from October 28-31.
This prestigious tournament boasts a prize fund of Rs 1 crore.
Top Indian professionals are expected to participate, including DP World Tour regular Veer Ahlawat, Yuvraj Sandhu (current PGTI Ranking leader), Arjun Prasad, Angad Cheema, Shaurya Bhattacharya, Om Prakash Chouhan, and Manu Gandas.
The international field will feature players like Sri Lankan N Thangaraja and Nepal's Subash Tamang.
Representing the Poona Club Golf Course will be local professionals Rohan Dhole Patil, Pranav Mardikar, Gurki Shergill (a PGTI winner), Akshay Damale, Pravin Pathare, Aaron Rockey, Aditya Bhandarkar, Sameer M Shaikh, Rajiv Datar, Jaipdeep Patwardhan, and Sunil Galphade. Additionally, local amateurs include Shamit Dhakne, Ved Kakatkar, and Arkin Patil.
This tournament will adopt a 72-hole stroke-play format, featuring a total of 126 players including 123 professionals and 3 amateurs. A cut will be made after the first 36 holes, allowing the top 50 players and ties to advance for another 36 holes.
