Patna, Sep 1 (NationPress) The sixth tournament of the 2025 Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) NEXGEN season is set to take place at Patna Golf Club from September 2 to 4. This event, boasting a prize pool of Rs 20 lakh, signifies the noteworthy return of professional golf and the PGTI to Patna after a lengthy hiatus of 14 years.
The competition will unfold over three rounds (54 holes), with a cut after two rounds (36 holes). The top-36 players and those tied will proceed to the final round.
The tournament showcases a talented field of 64 professionals, including local golfers such as Md Nawab, Md Islam, Varun Sahay, Vishal Sahay, Rohan Sharan, and Faiyyaz Ahmed.
This season has proven to be fiercely competitive, with five distinct winners emerging from the five events held thus far. Currently, Rajesh Kumar Gautam from Lucknow leads the 2025 PGTI NEXGEN Order of Merit after securing one victory and two top-5 finishes.
The champion of this year's NEXGEN Order of Merit will receive an exemption to compete in the main PGTI tour during the 2026 season.
