Jalandhar, March 22 (NationPress) The upcoming third event of the 2025 Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) NexGen season, known as the Phillaur Open, is scheduled to take place from March 25 to 27 at the Ranjitgarh Golf Club in Phillaur. A Pro-Am event is set for March 23.
This tournament boasts a prize purse of Rs 20 lakh and signifies the return of professional golf and the PGTI to Phillaur after a span of 14 years. The competition will unfold over three rounds (54 holes), with a cut made after two rounds (36 holes). The top-36 players and ties will qualify for the final round.
A total of 90 professionals will compete, including local talents Amit Kumar and Swatanter Kumar, both from Phillaur.
The first two events of the PGTI NexGen season, held in Gurugram and Kapurthala over the past two weeks, saw victories by Rajesh Kumar Gautam from Lucknow and Brijesh Kumar from Panchkula, who are now tied at the top of the 2025 PGTI NexGen Order of Merit.
The winner of this year’s NexGen Order of Merit will receive an exemption for the main tour (PGTI) in the 2026 season.
