Lucknow, Sep 5 (NationPress) The seventh event of the 2025 Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) NEXGEN season is set to take place at the Lucknow Golf Club from September 9–11. This tournament, known as the PGTI NEXGEN Lucknow, boasts a prize fund of INR 20 lakh and signifies the long-awaited return of professional golf to Lucknow Golf Club after a hiatus of seven years.
Spanning three rounds (54 holes), the tournament will see a cut after two rounds (36 holes), allowing the top-36 players and ties to advance to the final round.
Featuring a competitive field of 72 professionals, local talents include Sanjeev Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Bhoop Singh, and Ashish Kumar Gupta.
Among the notable international participants are American players Joe Hurn and Dominic Piccirillo, Italian Federico Zucchetti, Bangladeshi golfers Md Muaj and Md Solayeman, alongside Subash Tamang from Nepal.
The 2025 PGTI NEXGEN season has showcased fierce competition, with six different individuals claiming victory across the events held thus far. The top player in this year’s NEXGEN Order of Merit will receive an exemption to compete on the main PGTI tour for the 2026 season.
