New Delhi, Oct 31 (NationPress) The countdown to the highly anticipated finale of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12 has begun, as the two leading teams prepare to clash for the coveted championship. Following nearly two months of fierce competition, spectacular comebacks, and remarkable performances, it’s now time for Puneri Paltan and Dabang Delhi K.C to vie for glory at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium this Friday.

Both teams concluded the league stage on equal points (26), with Aslam Inamdar's Puneri Paltan taking the top spot based on points difference. They have met three times this season, with every match reaching the tiebreaker.

Nevertheless, Dabang Delhi K.C. has the upper hand in their head-to-head encounters this season, winning two out of three, including a crucial 6-4 victory in the tiebreaker during Qualifier 1 that secured their spot in the finals.

Looking ahead to the final, Dabang Delhi's captain Ashu Malik reflected on the team's journey, stating, "The team's atmosphere has been fantastic all season. We triumphed in Qualifier 1 and earned our place in the finals. Our performances have been impressive, and all three matches against Puneri Paltan have gone into tiebreakers. We’ve claimed two wins; they’ve taken one. Thus, both teams are formidable."

On the other hand, Puneri Paltan made a strong comeback with a victory over the Telugu Titans in Qualifier 2, marking their third final appearance in four seasons. Their captain attributed the team's success to a long-term strategy and a well-rounded squad developed over recent seasons.

“This is a team sport; we must play and win together. Our year-round training ensures we perform well in the league. We began as kids in Yuva Paltan in Season 7, and now here we are, at the top of the table and ready for the finals. This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our franchise,” Aslam remarked.

While Puneri Paltan boasts a solid squad led by Ajay Thakur and Aslam Inamdar, Dabang Delhi has demonstrated resilience and experience throughout the season. With key players like Fazel Atrachali, Saurabh Nandal, and Surjeet Singh, Ashu is optimistic about mirroring the success they achieved in Season 8.

“I was a New Young Player in Season 8, and now I’m the team captain. Joginder sir was a senior then and has always been supportive. We had a strong senior team back then, and Neeraj Narwal was also part of that squad. The team dynamics are similar now. Hopefully, we can replicate that success,” Ashu added.

As the final approaches, Aslam Inamdar expressed his thoughts, stating, “Delhi possesses a wealth of experience; we also have our seasoned players alongside a talented young squad. Experience will play a crucial role. Given that all three matches this season have gone to tiebreakers, we are aware that this match will be difficult. Luck might be the decisive factor; even a slight bit of luck can make a significant difference in the finals.”
