New Delhi, March 26 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi has offered his warmest congratulations to the Indian Sepak Takraw team for their outstanding achievements at the Sepak Takraw World Cup 2025, which took place at Patliputra Stadium in Patna, Bihar.

The Men's Regu team made history by winning India’s first gold medal in this prestigious event. The women's team also brought pride to the nation with a bronze medal in their category.

In a message shared on X, PM Modi stated, "Congratulations to our team for showcasing exceptional sporting talent at the Sepak Takraw World Cup 2025! Our team has returned with 7 medals. The Men’s Regu team has created history by securing India’s inaugural gold medal."

He continued, "This remarkable achievement signifies a bright future for India in the international Sepak Takraw scene."

In the Doubles category, the Indian women's team clinched the silver medal after an intense match against Myanmar, which took home the gold. The bronze medal was awarded to both Japan and Iran. The Indian men's team also earned a bronze medal, which they shared with Malaysia, in the doubles event.

During the Quad event, both the men's and women's teams finished in third place, earning bronze medals. In the mixed quad event, the women's team achieved a silver medal, while the men's team secured a bronze medal.
