The Premier League has a rich history of connecting with its millions of devoted fans and football communities in India. At the grassroots level, the League has been active in running the Premier Skills program in collaboration with the British Council since 2007, fostering the development of the community football workforce.

In the last 18 years, this program has been implemented in over 18 states across India, empowering more than 7,300 coaches, referees, and educators, ultimately benefiting 124,000 youth.

The establishment of the Premier League's office in India will reinforce its commitment to advancing football at both elite and grassroots levels through enhanced cooperation with local football authorities. The office will also strive to create more avenues for direct fan engagement in the region via events and partnerships, particularly with the League's established broadcast partner JioStar.

Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters stated: "Our clubs are fortunate to have a fantastic and knowledgeable fanbase in India, and we recognize that the sport is gaining traction. "The opening of this office is a pivotal moment for the Premier League. It will enable us to operate more efficiently on the ground as we enhance existing efforts to solidify relationships with fans, JioStar, and other partners. We eagerly anticipate the possibilities this will bring to the region."
