Ahmedabad, Nov 22 (NationPress) Following a successful leg in Delhi, the Tennis Premier League (TPL) Race to Gold Masters initiative has officially launched in Ahmedabad this Saturday. In collaboration with the Gujarat State Tennis Association, this tournament will unfold at the Gujarat University Tennis Stadium from the weekend of November 22-23.

The Race to Gold Masters is instrumental in TPL’s mission to uncover India’s future tennis talents, allowing them to demonstrate their abilities through the league's distinctive 25-point format.

This tournament paves the way for young athletes across U10, U12, U14, and Men’s and Women’s Open categories. It aims to bolster India’s domestic tennis framework by offering budding players crucial exposure to international standards and competitive atmospheres. This leg showcases 160 players from regions including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Bhavnagar, and Bharuch, with 40 players from each area competing in all categories.

Winners in the eight categories will be awarded scholarships amounting to ₹75,000 each, along with the chance to engage with tennis legends such as Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna, as well as top international players involved in TPL’s seventh season.

Moreover, they will be honored during a grand recognition ceremony slated for December 9 to 14, 2025, as part of TPL's seventh season.

Present at the ceremony were TPL Co-Founders Kunal Thakkur and Mrunal Jain, alongside Krishna Zaveri, President of GSTA, Shrimal Bhatt, General Secretary of GSTA, Rupak Kapadia, Director of Tennis at Gujarat University Tennis Centre, Ajay Vasani, and Vaidik Munshaw.

Co-Founder Kunal Thakkur expressed, "We are excited to launch the Race to Gold Gujarat Masters in Ahmedabad, a city pivotal to India’s sports evolution, especially with the upcoming 2030 Commonwealth Games and the bid for the 2036 Olympics. This event will set a vibrant tone for Season 7 of the league, which returns here next month."

The Tennis Premier League caravan will return to Ahmedabad for its seventh season, marking a significant milestone as it expands its reach beyond Maharashtra for the first time since its inception.

This season will also see players ranked within the Top 50 on the international circuit, offering Gujarat's tennis enthusiasts a chance to experience elite tennis action live at the stadium.

The Tennis Premier League Season 7 is set to take place from December 9 to 14 at the Gujarat University Tennis Stadium in Ahmedabad.
