Mumbai, Sep 1 (NationPress) India’s premier professional tennis league, the Tennis Premier League (TPL), sanctioned by the All India Tennis Association (AITA), is preparing for its highly anticipated Season 7, which will take place from December 9 to 14 at the Gujarat University Tennis Stadium in Ahmedabad.
This edition marks TPL's inaugural move beyond Maharashtra, establishing it as the fourth sports league in India to celebrate a seventh season.
The competition will feature eight franchises, supported by sports legends such as Leander Paes, Sania Mirza, Mahesh Bhupathi, Rakul Preet Singh, and Sonali Bendre. It promises to showcase international players ranked between 30 and 50 in the ATP, alongside India’s elite athletes, including two-time Grand Slam champion Rohan Bopanna.
Renowned for its innovative 25-point format, TPL has gained recognition for its thrilling and dynamic matches that continue to engage fans in India and worldwide.
Ahmedabad, rapidly becoming a key sporting destination in India, will provide an excellent backdrop for the league. In the past year, the Tennis Premier League has fostered its relationship with the Gujarat State Tennis Association by hosting tournaments across various age groups and supporting young talents through the Race to Gold Scholarships, thereby reinforcing its grassroots initiative in the region via the TPL App.
