New Delhi, Feb 14 (NationPress) The champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Gujarat Titans (GT), are set to commence their next preparation camp for the upcoming 2026 season beginning February 16, according to the franchise's Chief Operating Officer, Colonel Arvinder Singh.

This initiative has been introduced in cities such as Surendranagar, Morbi, Amreli, Anand, and Ahmedabad, with the objective of promoting physical activities among children under the age of 14 through engaging sessions and interactive games. Colonel Singh emphasized that the true measure of success for this program is not in sheer numbers, but rather in its capacity to inspire children to take up sports.

"The effectiveness of any initiative is reflected in the perspectives of the children who engage with us. I can assure you that today marks the conclusion of the last edition of the Junior Titans for this year. Recently, someone queried how we gauge success in this context. It's not about quantifying achievements," he stated during a virtual meeting with IANS.

"It's about encouraging children and providing them with an environment where they can proudly say they participated. Our goal is to ignite their passion for sports, not limited to just cricket. That's the approach we adopt at Gujarat Titans," Singh explained.

He further noted that the franchise's reputation significantly aids in attracting participation, especially from smaller cities where children typically have limited access to professional sports organizations.

"The name Gujarat Titans carries considerable weight, which is why children are eager to associate with us. Our intention is to reach out to these children and inspire them to engage in sports, which is our primary focus," he added.

With the guiding principle of 'Let's Sport Out!' and an emphasis on fostering confidence and teamwork through sports, Singh affirmed that the franchise maintains uniform standards for organizing events across all cities, irrespective of their size or infrastructure.

"From an organizational standpoint, there is no distinction between an event held in, for instance, Vadodara and one in Morbi. Both events are meticulously curated to ensure consistency, whether in tier-one or tier-three cities. There is absolutely no difference, and we are resolute about this," he remarked.

He highlighted that the primary variation lies in the exposure that children in larger cities have compared to those in smaller locales. Smaller cities often lack the expectation that an IPL franchise would engage with them, and the franchise is creating tailored opportunities for students without any ulterior motives.

He concluded by expressing satisfaction with the response from smaller cities, noting that children in these areas often have less access to quality sports facilities compared to their urban counterparts.

"It is truly uplifting to witness the enthusiasm in smaller cities, especially since children there lack access to adequate facilities. In bigger cities, while infrastructure exists, smaller cities do not have the same level of opportunity. What we are doing is no different from the events conducted in Ahmedabad, as the same standards apply across the board," he stated.

Point of View

The Gujarat Titans are setting a commendable example by investing in grassroots sports initiatives. Their approach not only builds a future talent pool for cricket but also champions physical activity and teamwork among youth. This initiative reflects a broader commitment to community engagement and the promotion of sports as a vital aspect of childhood development.
