Hyderabad, Sep 2 (NationPress) The much-anticipated Prime Volleyball League season 4 is set to commence on October 2 with the Hyderabad Black Hawks facing off against the reigning champions, Calicut. The tournament will conclude with the final match on October 26, as per the schedule released by the organizers on Tuesday.
This season boasts a total of 10 teams, including the newly added Goa Guardians, marking it as the largest edition to date. The teams will be split into two pools of five.
Pool A features Goa Guardians, Chennai Blitz, Kochi Blue Spikers, Bengaluru Torpedoes, and Kolkata Thunderbolts. Pool B comprises Hyderabad Black Hawks, Delhi Toofans, Ahemdabad Defenders, Mumbai Meteors, and Calicut Heroes.
A total of 38 matches will unfold during the league, with 35 matches in the league stage where each team competes against four teams from its pool and three from the opposite pool. The top four teams, regardless of pool, will move on to the semi-finals.
After over 21 days filled with back-to-back games and double headers, the league will reach the semi-finals on October 24, culminating in the title match on October 26.
