New Delhi, March 27 (NationPress) During the inaugural match of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL), featuring the Lahore Qalandars against the Hyderabad Kingsmen at Gaddafi Stadium, spectators were momentarily distracted as the ball unexpectedly developed a pink tint.

This peculiar occurrence arose when fielders were attempting to maintain the ball's luster by rubbing it against their uniforms, inadvertently causing the maroon dye from the Hyderabad Kingsmen's jerseys to transfer onto the white ball, resulting in a pink appearance.

Social media was quickly flooded with humor, memes, and light-hearted speculation regarding this incident. Former cricketer Kamran Akmal humorously remarked that it seemed as though the kits had been colored at a local dupatta dyeing shop.

"I honestly thought the Hyderabad Kingsmen had their kits dyed at some dupatta lane back home, where you can get white clothes recolored at bargain prices," Kamran Akmal stated on a YouTube channel.

One fan quipped, "Did they purchase counterfeit kits instead of genuine ones? Is this an international league or a street-level experiment?" Another user commented, "They must have spent all their budget on acquiring the team, I think." A concerned fan even expressed serious worries, stating that the dye could pose health risks, suggesting that players might contract skin cancer after skin contact. "Consider the players' skin; they might end up with skin cancer and have to treat it with PSL funds."

Another user opined, "There's a fierce competition between the poor quality of bowling and the kits." After the Lahore Qalandars secured victory, the Hyderabad Kingsmen took to X to humorously acknowledge the mishap of the day, congratulating their opponents on what they jokingly referred to as the first 'pink-ball game' in PSL history.

Furthermore, despite the promotion of 4K video resolution, numerous viewers expressed their disappointment regarding the broadcast quality, citing shaky camera work and unclear footage. Many also complained about the unsynchronized audio and video.

"After witnessing the opening match of the Pakistan Super League, the fan experience was quite disappointing. The poor camera quality, weak branding, and inadequate audio production do not meet the standards we expect. We deserve better," a fan remarked.

"The camera work is quite average. The stream should be brighter; the colors appear very dull," another fan commented on X.
