Jaipur, May 17 (NationPress) As Punjab Kings gear up to face Rajasthan Royals after a week-long hiatus in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this Sunday, their fast-bowling coach James Hopes has expressed strong faith in the team's preparedness and outlined their game plan for this vital match.

Hopes stated that the Punjab Kings have maintained their momentum during the break and are optimistic about overcoming the already eliminated Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Discussing the effects of the week-long intermission on the squad, Hopes noted that the players have returned to form and are rejuvenated. He emphasized that there would be no significant alterations to the lineup or their playing style, allowing players to resume from where they paused.

"There were concerns about how the team would reunite, but based on our training in recent days, it feels as if we have not missed a beat. If anything, the players returned feeling a bit more refreshed after spending some time at home," Hopes mentioned in a pre-match press conference.

When questioned about potential strategic changes, Hopes replied, "We plan to maintain a similar structure. Although we might have different players in certain roles, our approach will remain consistent… It was an unforeseen break, but we are attempting to view it positively."

Hopes also praised the fearless mentality of the young Indian players within both Punjab Kings and other teams, recognizing their significant influence on the tournament.

He remarked, "The young Indian players are currently fearless. They pose a greater challenge because there isn’t much information about them initially, and they play without fear. We've witnessed this across several teams this season, including ours, where young players are making a significant impact on the tournament."

Punjab Kings will continue their home games at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. When asked if the pitch conditions would favor the Kings, the fast-bowling coach emphasized the versatility of the squad.

He affirmed, "While we have a strong inclination towards pace, we also possess competent spinners who can be utilized if the pitch demands it. We are very confident in our depth. We've aimed to assemble a squad capable of thriving in various conditions."

Punjab Kings are set to clash with Rajasthan Royals in an early afternoon match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Sunday. Playing in the early afternoon right after the break could pose challenges due to the summer heat. The players are arriving from different locations, and acclimatizing to the weather may be difficult as they were previously playing in the cooler climate of Dharamsala.
