Noida, Jan 18 (NationPress) Maharashtra Kesari delivered an impressive first-half performance to clinch their inaugural win of the season, earning a full two points against Tigers of Mumbai Dangals in Match 6 of the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) 2026, currently underway at the Noida Indoor Stadium on Sunday.

Both teams arrived at this match after suffering losses in their initial bouts, but Maharashtra Kesari responded decisively, taking an unassailable 5–0 lead after the first five of the nine matches.

Beginning in the 62kg women’s division, Dudova Bilyana Zhivkova quickly regained control after an early takedown against her opponent. With a series of turn-and-exposure maneuvers in the opening period, she maintained her dominance, ultimately winning with a score of 11–2.

The momentum continued during the intense 74kg men’s match, where Yash displayed a robust second-period performance. After a tightly contested start, he capitalized on several takedowns and exposure points, finishing with a solid 13–5 victory over Naveen Malik.

The heavyweight clash further solidified Maharashtra's advantage. Team captain Robert Baran exhibited patience and strategy in the 125kg men’s match, waiting for the right moment to strike in the second period, where he secured a takedown and exposure to win 5–3 against Oleksandr Khotsianivskyi.

In the 57kg women’s division, Manisha Bhanvala delivered a standout performance, using push-outs effectively before executing a powerful throw resulting in a fall, which extended Maharashtra’s lead to 4–0.

Maharashtra confirmed their victory in the 65kg men’s match as Tevanyan Vazgen remained composed in a low-scoring match, accumulating critical activity points before sealing the deal with a decisive takedown in the final moments, marking Maharashtra Kesari's first win of PWL 2026.
