RCB Bowlers Shine: Patidar Celebrates Victory Over LSG
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bengaluru, April 16 (NationPress) Captain Rajat Patidar expressed his admiration for the bowling lineup and fielding skills after the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clinched a dominant five-wicket victory against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) during Match 23 of the Indian Premier League 2026, held at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday.
RCB showcased a thorough performance, first limiting LSG to a total of 146 runs, and then successfully chasing the target in just 15.1 overs, propelling them to the top of the points standings.
Commenting on the bowling display, Patidar was effusive in his accolades for his bowlers.
“The bowling was absolutely exceptional. Winning the toss was advantageous. The way our fast bowlers executed their plans was impressive. Even I am sometimes unsure about what the next delivery will be, but I can confidently say that he’s a bold bowler against Krunal Pandya. Additionally, Suyash's stump-to-stump bowling was a joy to watch,” he remarked during the post-match presentation.
RCB's opening bowlers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood, once again set a strong foundation with their disciplined bowling performances. Patidar emphasized the significance of having seasoned bowlers in a T20 format.
“For a captain, having specialist bowlers in T20 leagues simplifies the task because they know what to do without needing constant guidance. Their experience and strategies benefit all the other bowlers as well,” he noted.
He also acknowledged the enhanced fielding standards of the team, which have been a focal point throughout the tournament.
“Since the beginning of the IPL, the team has been concentrating on fielding intensity. Phil Salt’s spectacular one-handed catch was a testament to that effort; it was an incredible catch,” he added.
Despite RCB’s strong start to the season and their position at the top of the table, Patidar remained realistic about their championship aspirations.
“We have a long journey ahead regarding title ambitions. For now, we are focusing on one game at a time,” he concluded.
With this victory, RCB has reclaimed the top position on the points table with 8 points from five matches. They are set to face the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the same venue on Saturday.
