Dubai, March 12 (NationPress) Following the thrilling conclusion of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy, India's captain Rohit Sharma has ascended to third place in the ODI batting rankings, with fellow opener Shubman Gill holding the top position.
India celebrated its third Champions Trophy title with an exhilarating four-wicket triumph over New Zealand in Dubai, and the rankings update released on Wednesday recognizes the standout players from both teams.
Rohit, who played a crucial role by scoring a match-winning 76 off 83 balls in the final, has jumped two spots to secure third place. He was honored with the Player of the Match award for his stellar performance. On the other hand, Virat Kohli, who accumulated 218 runs throughout the tournament, retains his position in the top five, sitting at fifth place.
