The most recent update in the rankings shows Pakistan's Babar Azam holding onto the No. 1 position, yet the Indian pair is gaining ground after impressive performances in the ODI series against England.
Gill has climbed one spot to secure second place in the latest ODI batter rankings and is now just five rating points behind Babar after achieving back-to-back half-centuries against England.
