Gill now leads the batting chart with 796 rating points. Babar has fallen to second place, trailing by 23 rating points.

This marks the second occasion that Gill has achieved the No.1 ranking in ODI cricket, having previously surpassed Babar to claim the lead during the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in 2023.

Gill has demonstrated remarkable form recently, with his century against England in Ahmedabad during the third ODI of the recently concluded series propelling the 25-year-old to the top of the rankings.

In the meantime, India captain Rohit Sharma holds onto the third spot, 45 rating points behind his fellow Indian opener. South African Heinrich Klaasen (756) and New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell (740) complete the top five in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

Sri Lankan batsman Charith Asalanka has moved up eight spots to eighth, while Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan has climbed six positions to 15th, achieving a new career-high rating.

The latest bowling rankings are equally competitive, with Sri Lankan off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana taking the top position from Afghan spinner Rashid Khan.

Theekshana ascended to the top following his impressive performance against Australia, which included a remarkable four-wicket haul in the series opener in Colombo. Meanwhile, Rashid has dropped to second and will be eager to reclaim the No. 1 spot, trailing his Sri Lankan counterpart by only 11 rating points.

Several spinners are climbing the ranks, including India's Kuldeep Yadav (up one place to fourth), South Africa's Keshav Maharaj (re-entering the rankings in sixth), and New Zealand's Mitchell Santner (up four spots to seventh), all now positioned within the top 10.

Afghan veteran Mohammad Nabi continues to lead the rankings for ODI all-rounders, while Santner has ascended one place to sixth overall within the top 10.
