Guwahati, April 11 (NationPress) After securing their fourth consecutive win in IPL 2026 with a six-wicket triumph against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi reflected on the team’s spirit, the significant changes this season, and the outstanding performance of ‘fearless prodigy’ Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

Bishnoi achieved the notable wicket of Virat Kohli by outsmarting him with a googly, followed by the dismissal of Krunal Pandya. He concluded his spell with figures of 2-32, maintaining his position as the season's leading wicket-taker.

Discussing the key elements contributing to RR’s strong start in the tournament, Bishnoi stated, “We are thrilled to have won all four matches and hold the top position in the table. Our aim is to continue playing the style of cricket we have been showcasing. We are performing effectively as a unit rather than relying on individual performances. The solid starts we are witnessing with the bat are allowing us to finish games swiftly. Winning elevates the team atmosphere significantly, keeping it highly positive. Most of us belong to the same age group, which fosters a strong understanding among us, making a notable impact on our performance.”

On the adjustments made to his run-up and bowling action, he elaborated, “I made a minor tweak to my approach. I previously started too far from the umpire, hindering my diagonal run-up and leading to a standard jump. Although I’m not fully versed in utilizing the crease, I focused on my unique selling point—an impressive jump-start from outside the run-up. Regarding my bowling action, my non-bowling arm tends to get stuck, and while I’m working on it, improvement is still needed. Last year, my front foot was excessively heavy. These are a few technical aspects I’ve been refining, and while I’m not completely satisfied yet, I’m optimistic about further progress.”

Suryavanshi showcased a phenomenal performance, scoring 78 runs off just 26 balls, guiding Rajasthan Royals to a comfortable six-wicket win against RCB. During their chase of 203 runs, the 15-year-old relieved pressure from RR by skillfully attacking the opposition’s bowlers.

His innings included eight fours and seven sixes, earning him the IPL 2026 Orange Cap with a total of 200 runs in just four matches—an incredible feat early in his career.

Commenting on Suryavanshi’s performance in the nets, he said, “Absolutely, he targets each of us during practice. I consistently express my gratitude for having him on our team. Even if I get hit during practice, I appreciate it. When he took a single off Krunal’s first delivery, we were all taken aback since he typically attacks left-arm spinners right from the start.
