Did Wriddhiman Saha Join Siliguri Strikers as Mentor for Bengal Pro T20 Season 2?

Kolkata, May 23 (NationPress) Former India and Bengal wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha has taken on the role of mentor for the Siliguri Strikers ahead of the upcoming season 2 of the Bengal Pro T20 League, which is set to commence next month.

A seasoned player with experience in 40 Tests, 9 ODIs, and 255 T20 matches, Saha will be offering guidance to both the men's and women's teams and will also provide advice to Servotech Sports regarding talent development. His profound knowledge will be crucial as the Siliguri Strikers aim to excel in their second season.

Regarding his new role, Saha expressed, "I’m excited to join the Servotech Siliguri Strikers as mentor. I am eager to share my insights with the talented players and assist them in showcasing their best on the grand stage."

Earlier this month, the Siliguri Strikers assembled a formidable women's squad during the women's player draft. Indian cricketer Priyanka Bala, who has previously played for the Mumbai Indians in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), has been retained as the marquee player for the women's team.

A total of 128 women players were selected from a pool of 188 cricketers in the second edition of the Bengal Pro T20 League, showcasing the Strikers' strong lineup.

Representing the pride and cricketing spirit of North Bengal, the Siliguri Strikers will cover the districts of Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, and Kalimpong.

Recently, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) announced the postponement of the Bengal Pro T20 League season 2 due to recent tensions between India and Pakistan. The women's competition was initially set to begin on May 16 and run until June 4, followed by the men's tournament scheduled from June 4 to June 21.

CAB has stated it will release the revised schedule, including updated venues and fixtures, after a thorough review of the situation in collaboration with relevant authorities and stakeholders, along with any advisories issued by the BCCI.
