Manchester, Aug 20 (NationPress) Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah expressed immense pride at being the first player ever to secure the Men's PFA Players' Player of the Year award three times, emphasizing that this accolade is something he will never take for granted.

The Egyptian forward led the voting among his peers from this year's six-man shortlist, which featured club teammate Alexis Mac Allister, marking the 10th time a Liverpool player has received this distinguished award.

Upon receiving the PFA trophy, which he also won in 2017-18 and 2021-22, Salah remarked, "Fantastic, fantastic. It’s unprecedented in the Premier League, and this is a moment I will always cherish and never overlook. I’m extremely grateful for this recognition."

Salah netted 34 goals and provided 23 assists in 52 appearances during the previous season, setting numerous records in the process. Reflecting on his performance, he noted, "We had an exceptional season and I believe it was my finest at the club, perhaps in my entire career. Winning the league was a significant achievement, and I hope we can maintain that momentum this year."

"I’ve always found a way to stay hungry and strive for more. This season, with new players joining, it’s essential to share my experience and support their growth – that’s part of being a footballer. It’s this hunger that fuels my desire for more success," he added.

Salah has established himself as a Liverpool icon since his transfer from AS Roma in the summer of 2017, signing a new contract in April that will keep him at Anfield until 2027.

"I remain very ambitious – that’s why I extended my contract with Liverpool for another two years. Competing in the Premier League at such a level is exhilarating. At the age of 33, I feel capable of contributing significantly in every match. This drives me to work hard and be proud of my efforts," he concluded.
