New Delhi, Dec 18 (NationPress) The Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) announced on Wednesday that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has joined as the brand ambassador for the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup, which will occur in New Delhi from January 13 to 19, 2025.

Salman conveyed his enthusiasm for this groundbreaking event, reflecting on his personal connection to the game. The celebrated actor commended the initiative to host the World Cup in the capital city and expressed his delight in seeing the sport gaining international recognition.

"I am honored to be a part of the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup 2025! This isn't merely a tournament - it's a celebration of India's rich culture, resilience, and vigor. All of us, myself included, have engaged in Kho Kho at some point in our lives," Salman Khan stated in his message. "This sport embodies continuous action and an unwavering spirit that has already drawn global interest. Let's unite and honor the essence of Kho Kho on an international platform," he further stated.

The Kho Kho World Cup will feature 21 men's and 20 women's teams, with participants from 24 nations competing throughout the week-long event in India.

A demonstration match for both men's and women's teams was also organized, showcasing star players like Pratik Waiker, Aditya Ganpule, Ramji Kashyap, Dilip Khandvi, Suyash Gargate, Gautam M.K., Sachin Bhargava, Vishal, Arun Gunki, Priyanka Ingle, Magai Majhi, Muskaan, Meenu, Chetra B, Nasreen, Reshma Rathore, and Nirmala Pandey.

KKFI President Sudhanshu Mittal expressed his appreciation to Salman, noting that his involvement will attract more viewers to the World Cup.

"We are thankful to superstar Salman Khan for taking time from his busy schedule for our cherished Mitti Ka Khel. His enthusiasm for the sport is genuinely motivating, and we believe he will generate nationwide interest in the upcoming World Cup. We have made every effort to ensure that the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup is a resounding success, and we eagerly await the fans' response to what we have prepared for them," he added.
