KKFI Reveals Trophies and Mascots for the Inaugural Kho Kho World Cup

New Delhi, Jan 3 (NationPress) The Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) on Friday revealed the trophies for the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup, planned for January 13-19. Under the auspices of the Sports Authority of India (SAI), the tournament will highlight 21 men's and 20 women's teams from 24 countries across six continents at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium.
This World Cup will present two trophies – a blue trophy for the men's championship and a green trophy for the women's event. Both trophies capture the essence of Kho Kho through their modern design, showcasing flowing curves and golden figures.
The blue trophy signifies trust, determination, and universal appeal, while the green trophy symbolizes growth and vitality. Both pieces are adorned with intricate crystal detailing that reflects the precision and excellence required at the top level of competition.
The KKFI also introduced ‘Tejas’ and ‘Tara,’ a pair of gazelles serving as the official mascots of the tournament. These mascots embody the sport's fundamental qualities of speed, agility, and teamwork.
Tejas, representing brilliance and energy, and Tara, signifying guidance and aspiration, are portrayed in vibrant blue and orange sports attire embellished with traditional Indian motifs, honoring both the sport's heritage and its contemporary appeal.

The World Cup will be live streamed for free on Disney+ Hotstar and broadcast on DD Sports at no cost, providing a significant boost to a sport native to India. This World Cup is the first step towards introducing the sport to the Olympics, and with the assistance of all our partners, we aim to showcase the beauty of Kho Kho to the world. Our mascots Tejas and Tara represent the sport's core attributes of speed, agility, and teamwork.
