Shymkent (Kazakhstan), Aug 20 (NationPress) The Indian pair of Saurabh Chaudhary and emerging talent Suruchi Inder Singh clinched the 10m air pistol mixed team bronze by defeating Chinese Taipei at the Asian Shooting Championships on Wednesday.
Saurabh and Suruchi triumphed over the Taipei duo of Liu Heng-Yu and Hsieh Hsiang-Chen with a score of 17-9. The other bronze medal was awarded to Iran’s Haniyeh Rostamiyan and Vahid Golkhandan, who secured victory against Thuy Trang Nguyen and Cong Minh Lai of Vietnam. South Korea took home the gold medal by defeating China.
The Indian team scored a total of 578 points, with Suruchi contributing 292 and Saurabh 286 during the qualification round, finishing fifth to advance to the medal round.
With this 10m air pistol mixed team bronze, India’s medal count in the senior category at the Asian Shooting Championship 2025 rises to four. Earlier, Anmol Jain, Saurabh Chaudhary, and Aditya Malra earned silver in the men’s 10m air pistol team event. Double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker claimed victory in the women’s 10m air pistol competition on Tuesday.
