Who Are the New Head Coaches for SG Pipers’ Hockey Teams?

New Delhi, Sep 12 (NationPress) The SG Pipers have officially unveiled their coaching team for both the men’s and women’s squads. Tim Oudenaller has been named the head coach for the men’s team, while Sofie Gierts takes the helm of the women’s team. These pivotal appointments underscore the franchise’s dedication to excellence, innovation, and the ongoing development of hockey talent.

With the inclusion of these highly skilled international coaches, the SG Pipers are setting the stage for a robust campaign. The coaches will be instrumental in enhancing the squad, fostering leadership, and equipping both teams for the upcoming season.

Known for his results-oriented mindset and knack for creating cohesive teams, Tim Oudenaller is currently the head coach of Kampong in the Dutch Hoofdklasse. Recognized as one of Europe’s brightest coaching talents, the Dutch coach has consistently led his teams to success over the years.

Looking forward to his new role, Tim expressed, “I grew up during a time when India was a dominant hockey nation. As a young and ambitious coach, I was eager to embrace the chance to coach in one of the world’s most prestigious leagues. The SG Pipers share my ambition, and we have assembled a strong and balanced team that I believe can contend for the title.”

A trailblazer in global hockey, Sofie Gierts is celebrated for her practical approach and outstanding communication abilities. She holds the rare honor of being the head coach of a men’s team in Belgium’s top division with Royal Uccle and has also led Royal Antwerp to a national women’s championship. Throughout her playing career, Sofie earned 140 caps for the Red Panthers.

Tim and Sofie will closely collaborate with the SG Pipers squads, which last season showcased a dynamic mix of established stars, including Shamsher Singh, Jacob Whetton, Jarmanpreet Singh, Sangita Kumari, Deepika Sehrawat, and Navneet Kaur. This season, these players, alongside emerging talents, will train and develop under the tutelage of the new coaches and the mentorship of Indian hockey luminary Sreejesh PR, who also serves as the Director of Hockey for SG Pipers.
