Shaheen Afridi Set to Make His BPL Debut with Fortune Barishal

Dhaka, Dec 19 (NationPress) The renowned Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi will be making his first appearance in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for the defending champions Fortune Barishal in the upcoming season of the tournament.
The 11th season of the BPL is scheduled to commence on December 30, where the reigning champions Fortune Barishal will face off against newcomers Durbar Rajshahi at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
As reported by Cricbuzz, the franchise has confirmed that Shaheen Shah Afridi, the left-arm fast bowler from Pakistan, will be joining Fortune Barishal for this edition of the BPL.
The franchise representative revealed that the 24-year-old pace sensation has been signed as a direct recruit and will be eligible to participate in the first five matches of the tournament, following the Pakistan Cricket Board's approval for a no-objection certificate until January 15.
Other notable direct signings for Fortune include Kyle Mayers, Dawid Malan, Mohammad Nabi, Faheem Ashraf, Ali Mohammad, and Jahandad Khan, while James Fuller, Pathum Nissanka, and Nandre Burger were chosen from the players' draft.
Fortune Barishal also features a formidable lineup of local players such as Tamim Iqbal, Towhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Tanvir Islam, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Ripon Mondol, Ebadot Hossain, Nayeem Hasan, Rishad Hossain, and Taijul Islam.
The BPL, which features seven franchises — Dhaka Capitals, Chittagong Kings, Durbar Rajshahi, Fortune Barishal, Khulna Tigers, Rangpur Riders, and Sylhet Strikers — will continue until February 7.
