New Delhi, May 21 (NationPress) Simranjeet Kaur Bath, an Olympian and World Championships bronze medallist, is set to make her professional debut. She has officially joined forces with American boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. and Indian boxing star Mandeep Jangra, who will guide and train her as she transitions from amateur to professional boxing.
Simranjeet is carving her name in history, having become Punjab’s first female boxer to compete in the Olympics, and now she is advancing into the professional arena. This year, she becomes the third Indian boxer to turn professional, following the successful paths of World Championship medallists Nishant Dev and Amit Panghal.

The 29-year-old Simranjeet is from Chakkar, Punjab. Competing in the lightweight welter-weight category, she represented India at the Tokyo Olympics and has secured a bronze medal at the World Championships in 2018, along with two medals at the Asian Championships (silver in 2019 and bronze in 2021).
Many distinguished Indian boxers have made the transition to professional boxing following successful amateur careers, including Vijender Singh, who earned a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Vikas Krishan (Asian Games 2010 and Commonwealth Games 2018 gold medallist), Sarita Devi, and Neeraj Goyat, all of whom enjoyed strong performances in international amateur competitions before entering the professional domain.
