New Delhi, Mar 1 (NationPress) Star Indian badminton player PV Sindhu found herself stranded at Dubai Airport on Saturday while heading to Birmingham for the prestigious All England Open. Flight operations were halted due to rising tensions between Iran and the US-Israel alliance, prompting Sindhu to share her unsettling experience. She described the past few hours as "extremely tense," stating that they could hear "sounds of interceptions and explosions" close to their location at the airport.
Sindhu was on her way to compete in the All England championships, which kick off on Tuesday, when her layover in Dubai turned chaotic. "After our flight from Bangalore landed, unforeseen events began to unfold, resulting in the shutdown of airspace. The last few hours were truly nerve-wracking. We heard interceptions overhead, followed by a nearby explosion," Sindhu recounted in a video message.
“My coach was only about 100 meters away from the incident and had to evacuate quickly. Such experiences can truly shake your foundation. You never anticipate these situations for yourself or your loved ones. Yet, sometimes, events are beyond our control. I feel incredibly fortunate to have a strong, cohesive team around me that remained calm and supportive during this frightening ordeal,” she added.

Despite the overwhelming situation of numerous stranded passengers, they showed genuine empathy and care. I also want to thank the Indian High Commission in Dubai for their immediate response when I sought help.
