Bengaluru, Feb 24 (NationPress) UP Warriorz won the toss and opted to bowl first against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the ninth match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Monday. Sneh Rana is set to make her debut for Bengaluru, replacing Joshitha. Smriti Mandhana also confirmed that Elyse Perry is ready to bowl tonight. UP Warriorz will retain the same eleven.

While the defending champions, RCB, kicked off their campaign with two consecutive victories, UP Warriorz faced a rocky beginning, losing their first two matches. However, their recent triumph over Delhi Capitals Women has provided them with a significant morale boost, allowing them to secure their first points on the table.

In contrast, RCB was in a strong position to clinch their third straight win against Mumbai Indians but fell short as the former champions mounted a comeback.

Additionally, UP Warriorz broke the trend of successful chases this season by defending their total against Delhi, ending a run of seven consecutive victories for teams batting second.

UP Warriorz captain Deepti Sharma stated, "We are going to bowl first. The ball tends to move during the power-play. Our mindset remains the same as in the last game. The toss does not hold much significance for me; how we play our cricket is what matters most. We need to enhance our fielding, and we've discussed it. We are sticking with the same XI."

Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Smriti Mandhana remarked, "We would have preferred to field first. The toss isn't a major factor since there is minimal dew at the Chinnaswamy. We wished to win the last game. In cricket, you start fresh with the first ball. We have identified a few areas to work on and need to apply them in this match. There is one change: Rana is coming in. Perry is available to bowl a few overs."
