The teenage prodigy's pyrotechnics drew effusive praise from former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar, who admitted he runs out of words every time the youngster takes the crease.

Opening alongside stand-in captain Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sooryavanshi set the tone immediately, propelling RR to 71 without loss in the powerplay.
