Dubai, March 9 (NationPress) Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi were spotted enjoying the ICC Champions Trophy final between India and New Zealand at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
Chahal was seen watching the finale from the stands alongside RJ Mahvash. The pair also shared match highlights on their Instagram stories. Meanwhile, Oberoi was photographed alone, enthusiastically waving the Indian flag to show support for the Rohit Sharma-led team.
Additionally, actress and Virat Kohli's wife Anushka Sharma and Punjabi singer Karan Aujla were also present at the event.
After deciding to bat first, New Zealand managed to score 251/7 in 50 overs, thanks to a pivotal innings from Daryl Mitchell, who scored 63 runs, while Michael Bracewell remained not out at 53, setting a competitive target to defend.
For India, bowlers Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy each took two wickets.
The team led by Rohit is competing in their fourth consecutive final in under two years. They previously appeared in the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand in 2023, followed by the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia and the 2024 T20 World Cup final against South Africa.
Despite this, they have only secured the title in last year's T20 World Cup and faced defeats in the other two finals.
If India successfully chases down 252 runs, they will clinch the Champions Trophy for the third time—making them the team with the most titles in the tournament's history. Conversely, if they fall short, New Zealand will claim their second tournament title after a gap of over 24 years.
