Syed Modi International: PV Sindhu and Dhruv-Tanisha Dominantly Advance to Finals

Lucknow, Nov 30 (NationPress) Two-time Olympic medallist shuttler PV Sindhu has secured her place in the women's singles final of the Syed Modi International Super 300 badminton tournament after defeating compatriot Unnati Hooda in straight sets during the semifinal here on Saturday.
Sindhu triumphed over the young player Unnati with scores of 21-12, 21-9 in just 36 minutes, marking her first final appearance of the season since the Malaysia Masters in May, where she was bested by Wang Zhi Yi of China.
The 17-year-old presented a minimal challenge for Sindhu, failing to inflict any significant damage. Nevertheless, Unnati did have her moments, showcasing some sharp returns that Sindhu could not respond to.
The former World Champion is now set to compete against Wu Luo Yu from China, who secured her spot in the final by defeating Lalinrat Chaiwan from Thailand with scores of 21-19, 21-12 in the second semifinal, scheduled for Sunday.
In another thrilling development, India’s mixed doubles pair Tanisha Crasto and Dhruv Kapila advanced to the final with an impressive performance against China’s Zhi Hong Zhou and Jia Yi Yang. The fifth-seeded duo won in straight games, finishing the semifinal with a score of 21-16, 21-15 in a match that lasted 42 minutes.
They will face the sixth-seeded Thai pair of Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran in the final.
