Bengaluru, March 3 (NationPress) The Trigger Tacticians triumphed in the first-ever Shooting League of Karnataka, securing the championship with an impressive 8–4 win against the Bengaluru Brigade.

Competing under the Shooting League of India (SLI), the Trigger Tacticians displayed an unbeatable streak throughout the tournament. They performed admirably in the group stages, progressing to the knockout rounds, and ultimately achieving victory in the finals against their rivals.

This league adopted a well-structured team format, which included two 10m Air Rifle shooters, two 10m Air Pistol shooters, three 25m Pistol shooters, two Trap shooters, one Skeet shooter, and one 50m Prone shooter per team, effectively combining individual talent with strategic depth.

In the 10m Air Rifle segment, Darius Saurastri, a national medalist and international contestant, dominated by winning three out of five matches, achieving the highest score in the men's Air Rifle discipline.

His teammate, Sanika, a Khelo India athlete, provided crucial support with key victories. In the 10m Air Pistol category, youth Asian medalist Dareen K Dawn joined forces with Shwetha Shivanna, with the duo clinching the pivotal final match for the Tacticians.

In the 25m Pistol division, Manika stood out with four wins from five matches, while Lovelesh secured three victories from four attempts. Vivek brought valuable experience to the 25m team.

Mohammed Rayan Baig consistently performed as the anchor in the 50m Prone event, while Girish Punja led in Skeet, winning four out of five matches. The Trap shooters, Mahesha H.R. and Srihari Sriramaiah, collaborated effectively to achieve three victories from five matches.

After their initial defeat, the Bengaluru Brigade made a strong comeback, winning all subsequent group matches to qualify for the knockout phase. In the semi-finals, they showcased an exceptional performance against the Calibre Capitals, winning 8–4 and displaying composure under pressure. Despite their efforts, they finished as runners-up following a tough final against the Tacticians.

The Calibre Capitals had a solid showing in the league stage with two victories and a draw, demonstrating their balance and discipline, ultimately earning a respectable third place.

The league format of SLK Season 1 aims to align with SLI’s objectives of enhancing grassroots competition, increasing match visibility, and establishing a sustainable development pathway for both emerging and established shooters.
