The Hyderabad Cricket Association's TG20 tournament enters its decisive playoff week beginning Thursday, 10 July, with four teams competing across three knockout matches for the inaugural title. After three weeks of league-stage cricket at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, the competition narrows to its most consequential stage.

Playoff Format and Schedule

The knockout phase opens on Thursday with a double-header. The Eliminator pits Ranga Reddy Risers against EIPL & Eleve Karimnagar Diamonds, followed by Qualifier 1 between unbeaten Hyderabad E-Champions and Anvita Khammam Aces. The Qualifier 1 winner advances directly to Sunday's final, while the loser faces the Eliminator winner in Qualifier 2 on Friday. The grand final is scheduled for Sunday, when the first TG20 champions will be crowned.

Eliminator: Risers vs Karimnagar Diamonds

No side enters the playoffs with greater momentum than Ranga Reddy Risers, who rescued their campaign with a stunning 161-run demolition of Warangal Warriors in the final league match — a result that simultaneously improved their net run rate and secured the last playoff berth. Aditya Javvaji was their most consistent batter, amassing 286 runs in the league stage, while spinner Aryan Cariappa led the bowling with 11 wickets, including a match-winning four-wicket haul.

EIPL & Eleve Karimnagar Diamonds overcame a slow start — losing their first two matches — to mount a composed, balanced campaign. Tanmay Agarwal anchored their batting with 328 runs and two centuries, supported by Chandan Sahani in the middle order. With the ball, Rathlavath Dinesh claimed nine wickets, while Narayana Teja and Shubham Sharma each contributed eight wickets.

Qualifier 1: E-Champions vs Khammam Aces

Hyderabad E-Champions are the tournament's standout side, completing the league stage unbeaten. Abhirath Reddy has been their cornerstone with 418 runs at a strike rate of 220, including a century. District player Ganesh Gadugu added 224 runs with three not-out finishes. With the ball, Ajay Dev Goud leads the tournament wicket charts with 16 wickets, backed by Pranav Varma's nine wickets at an economy of 6.8 runs per over.

Anvita Khammam Aces offer the sternest batting challenge in the draw. Kodimela Himateja tops the overall run charts with 430 runs — including a century and four fifties — at a striking average of 107.5. Openers Wafi Kachchhi and G Sai Krishna Reddy have provided explosive starts throughout the league. In bowling, 16-year-old Ved Reddy has taken 12 wickets to emerge as the tournament's second-highest wicket-taker, while skipper CV Milind has contributed nine wickets across five matches.

The inaugural TG20 delivered on its promise, producing high-scoring contests, last-over finishes, and individual performances of note. India T20I captain Tilak Varma produced one of the tournament's most celebrated innings for Medak Falcons, scoring a century that is widely regarded as a highlight of the season. Aaron George's 91 off 43 balls powered Risers' match-winning 161-run rout of Warangal Warriors in the final league round. Aman Rao set the highest individual score of the tournament at 142, while Tanmay Agarwal's two centuries and Kodimela Himateja's consistency defined the batting charts.

Cultural Programme and Closing Ceremony

The playoff week extends beyond cricket, with Telangana's cultural traditions woven into every match day. Thursday's double-header will feature the Oggu Dollu drummers and live performances by singers Madhu Priya, Bhole Shavali, and Hanumant. Friday's Qualifier 2 will open with the traditional Dappulu dance. The Sunday final promises a full cultural showcase — Bonalu Kolatam, Kolatam, Bathukamma Dance, Lambadi Dance, and Oggu Dollu — capped by a live performance from playback singer Rahul Sipligunj and a sound, light, and laser show with pyrotechnics at the mid-innings break.
