EIPL & Eleve Karimnagar Diamonds stormed into Qualifier 2 of the Hyderabad Cricket Association's TG20 Season 1 on Thursday, 9 July, dismantling Ranga Reddy Risers by 75 runs in Hyderabad. Captain Tanmay Agarwal's breathtaking 61-ball 137 and spinner Ashish Srivastav's devastating 5 for 16 were the twin pillars of a performance that left the Risers chasing shadows.

Tanmay's Batting Masterclass

Tanmay Agarwal was in a league of his own from the first ball. He raced to his half-century in just 24 deliveries and reached his century in 48 balls, threading 11 boundaries and 10 sixes in an innings that defined the contest. It was his second consecutive century and third overall in TG20 Season 1, catapulting him to the top of the Orange Cap standings with 465 runs in the tournament.

Karimnagar Diamonds were already motoring at 75/1 at the end of the Powerplay when Hrishikesh Simha joined Tanmay. The pair forged a punishing 139-run second-wicket partnership off just 69 balls, with Simha reaching his fifty off 27 balls. The Diamonds eventually posted 238/7 in their 20 overs, despite a late wobble that saw them lose five wickets for 28 runs after Tanmay was dismissed by Nitin Sai Yadav.

Srivastav Dismantles the Chase

Chasing a daunting 239, the Ranga Reddy Risers were in early trouble, reduced to 29/2 within the first three overs after losing Aaron George (12) and Alankrith Rapole (2). Skipper Tanay Thyagarajann counter-attacked bravely, adding a brisk 43-run stand with Aditya Javvaji (17) to keep the chase alive.

However, Ashish Srivastav changed the complexion of the match in the seventh over, removing both Aditya and Gnana Prakash Reddy (1) in quick succession, with wicketkeeper Rahul Radesh sharp behind the stumps to complete both dismissals. Tanay fought on to score 63 off 33 balls before being cleaned up by Shubham Sharma, and once Nitin Sai Yadav holed out for a 30-ball 50, the lower order collapsed. The Risers were bowled out for 163 in 16.3 overs.

By virtue of this win, Karimnagar Diamonds will face the losing team of Qualifier 1 — contested between Hyderabad E-Champions and Anvita Khammam Aces — in the do-or-die Qualifier 2 fixture scheduled for Friday. With Tanmay in ominous form and Srivastav finding sharp turn, the Diamonds head into that contest as the team to beat.
