Mumbai, April 6 (NationPress) Royal Challengers Bengaluru's Tim David is preparing for his return to the iconic Wankhede Stadium after a three-year stint from 2022-2024 with the Mumbai Indians. He expressed his feelings about having shared the field with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, two legends of Indian cricket. The Australian powerhouse considers ‘Ro-Ko’ to be rightfully celebrated in the nation and reflected on his comeback to his former home, where he aims to create some ‘damage’.

“It’s fantastic to have such experienced senior players in the dressing room; they are truly admired, and justifiably so, as they have excelled for a long time. Both players have been part of this tournament since it began, which adds to the electric atmosphere. The support from fans is immense, and it makes for an incredible environment to play in,” David remarked.

“Returning to play in Mumbai is thrilling; Wankhede is a great venue for batting, and it was once my home ground. While it’s no longer my home, I’m looking forward to making an impact in the middle tomorrow night,” he added before the match.

RCB has kicked off the 2025 season on a strong note, achieving impressive wins against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings, although they faced a setback against Gujarat Titans in their most recent match.

David is confident in the batting strength of the team, believing they won’t struggle for runs this season, and is eager to return to winning form at “one of the finest batting pitches in the country.”

“We’ve had a great start, securing two significant wins against KKR and Chennai, who are traditionally tough opponents at home. The last match was challenging due to early wickets, but that’s part of the game—especially in this high-quality tournament. I don’t expect that to happen frequently with our strong batting lineup,” he commented.

“We are excited about the upcoming game; we haven’t lingered on past matches. Winning is rewarding, and we learn from losses. Another exciting match awaits us in Mumbai, where they’ve crafted their team to thrive in these conditions at one of the best batting venues in the country. Let’s hope for a great performance tomorrow night,” he concluded.
